Guests will have exclusive access to the entire upper unit. There is a common pathway for the building, but the entrance door to this upper unit is private and only for this unit. The upper unit and lower unit of this townhome are completely separated from each other and only have access to their own respective space.
Please note: We pay for passes to dedicated parking spots in a gravel lot at the bottom of the hill, behind one of the nearby businesses (a restaurant). The restaurant has become very successful recently and their customers sometimes park in our spots, without much enforcement from the business. We are very sorry for this inconvenience, and suggest you park on the street if the lot is full.
Located just off the West Seattle Bridge, the Luna Park neighborhood of West Seattle was once home to the famous Luna Park amusement park, known as the Coney Island of the West that operated from 1907 until 1913.
With its hand-carved carousel, Figure Eight Roller Coaster, Cave of Mystery, 2 theaters, Dancehall, and both fresh and saltwater swimming pools, it was a sight to behold. Plus it had the longest and best-stocked bar in Elliott Bay.
Eventually, a climate of moralism against "boozers from Seattle" invading the area and a series of political scandals contributed to Luna Park's demise, and it closed forever in 1913.
The Luna Park Cafe is named in its honor and is just steps away. The cafe has great food, beer, a working jukebox and other curios, and plenty of historical pictures of the amusement park in its heyday.
Transportation is easy, with the Rapid Ride bus (every 10 minutes) that goes either to South Lake Union in Seattle, the Alaska Junction (heart of West Seattle), or the Fauntleroy Ferry that goes to Vashon Island and Southworth.
There is also a free shuttle that will take you to the West Seattle Water Taxi, to whisk you across Elliott Bay to the Seattle waterfront.
Buses, Uber/Lyft, free shuttle to Water Taxi and Alki Beach. There are also electric ride-share scooters and bicycles, especially at Alki Beach.
Please note that the home is located on a hill that is quite steep.
Also please note that the townhome is in a building with common walls so sounds from the other units can sometimes be heard.
